This week, due to vision issues, I decided to find doors that are near to home that are, FUN, INTERESTING, and DOORS. And did not require driving to find them…
The two doors I am highlighting this week are Mailbox Doors. They are hinged entryways, so meet the definition of a door! Interesting, in that they were originally plain and boring featureless constructions. Following the application of brightly colored paint in various patterns, they are now interesting AND fun! (Painting courtesy of my sister-in-law & mother-in-law…)
Thursday Doors is a weekly event for those who send, receive, or ignore snail mail in all its valuations. We are aptly postmarked by Norm of the Great White North, and you can find Him HERE . At the bottom of his page you will see a blue rectangular box with a postage-free frog. Click on this cute feller to see more doors throughout the world!!
I bet the mail delivery folks smile. Nicely done.

I’m certain our delivery lady thought we must be a bunch of hippies when the “NEW IMPROVED” mailboxes appeared last summer, but now she just realizes we are just weird… !!!

Lovely collection. You obviously live somewhere lucky enough to escape the idea of community mailboxes which are hideously ugly stacks. I miss the old style mailboxes so this was a treat.

We live in sort of a DMZ… kinda county yet kinda city… neither wants to really claim us, except for our taxes!!

too bad you don’t have a before picture of our old mailbox before my sister went crazy with the colors…it had been red, but it was mostly just peeling paint…well done, honey!

True! Whatever did we do with that old mailbox??? I had considered making a bird house out of it, but like so many hopeful projects around here…. never happened! Maybe when i retire,,, FROM BEING RETIRED!!! 😀

Thx Kim! Taking it a day at a time, a little more clarity most days. My only concern is that it improves enough to pass my driver’s license vision test in August!

Thank you Jean!! I enjoy going to the mailbox every day just because it is so cheerful and colorful… even finding bills inside doesn’t diminish the pleasure of going to the mailbox! 😀

Those are quite come boxes! I bet they make the mail carrier happy when she sees them. BTW, I really like your header photo.

I think the carrier is happier these days, all because of the cheery mailboxes greeting her every day ! 🙂
Thanks for the compliment on the header photo… I took that a couple weeks ago as the sun rose over Lake Springfield… tough job, no?!

Thank you , my sweet baby sister! Sorry for not posting… another blindness episode AND plantar fasciitis have limited my activities… No door photo excursions, no walks…. sigh…. Although a trip to the zoo to visit my ALMOST-family at monkey island is possible!!! 🙂
